A teaspoon of Honey

Hello Reader,

It is terrible to see the number of people willing to spend their money buying unhealthy food from the popular franchises which despite of their ill-effects are majorly advertised and attract many buyers. To cope up with the lifestyle that is followed by majority today, because of their very busy schedules, less importance is given to what food is being eaten. Especially, when a person moves out of their homely boundaries into a world where the food that is served is nowhere close to the one cooked at their home. College students, living in hostels and PGs and young employees working day and night, do not follow a balanced diet and often, meals are skipped, pushing them into a future where ailments like obesity, diabetes, uneven blood pressure and in worse cases, heart attacks are highly probable to strike.

Finding people with such ailments is not rare today. But, this can be stopped if a proper diet and healthy cooking methods are practiced. There are always alternatives to look upon. All it takes is to give a little more priority and thought before grabbing that high-on-calorie-and-cholesterol snack from the fast food stall round the corner of your street.

If you look at it, it is kind of funny to see how we indulge in crunching and munching improper food half of our years and spend the rest of them starving ourselves with a crash diet, trying to lose weight. So, why not go with that famous proverb “Prevention is better than cure” and start following a balanced diet?

Because, if you follow a well-balanced diet, you will certainly have these assets:

1.        A good shape

2.        More energy

3.        Disease-free body

4.        Cooler Mind

5.        A longer life

Our body requires the right amount of calories and nutritions to keep functioning and that is all a well-balanced diet is all about. An average human body requires about 2000-2500 calories per day.
You can use this Diet Planner for some help:

Instead of relying on pre-cooked and packed junk food, we should spend a little more time in the kitchen. Fresh green vegetables and fruits are a must to be included in our everyday diet and also, having a cup of Green Tea with some Honey instead of sugar can itself bring a lot of improvements as Honey as an alternative has more benefits than you think.

Add a teaspoon of Dabur Honey  in your everyday recipes; It doesn't not only act as a better alternative ingredient but also, tastes good. Trust me, because, I have tried it on my vegetable sandwich and the taste of raw veggies, some spices and honey to top it, not only gives a great taste but also is high of nutritious values.

Embrace a new, healthy lifestyle!.

So, let's say yes to a Honey Diet

Its Cricket, you see!

Hello Reader,

The semi-final of the 2011 Cricket World Cup brought India and Pakistan teams to clash once again. But, it was held on a full-working, regular Wednesday, barring the supporters of both the teams to stick back at their homes and catch the high-on-drama thriller that was much-awaited to be caught live on their television screens. Many shops remained shut down, office goers called up their bosses to notify that they were either ill or had an emergency at home. Of course, we all know and the bosses know that on the days like these, there always are a thousand excuses to abscond work. In fact, even the Prime Ministers of both the countries took a day’s leave and were present at the venue to witness the historic game. That certainly would have boosted the confidence of many to skip their errands for a day and show their full support and to cheer for the teams.

Similar was the scene in my classroom where everybody sat unwillingly, uninterested in the lecture that was going on. Someone had sneaked in a cell-phone and was passing on the match updates, “India won the toss and elected to bat”,  he whispered and the update was passed bench by bench and the slow murmurs and ‘expert discussions’ echoed all over the classroom. Later, as India started to bat, the murmurs grew louder as Virendra Sehwag hit back-to-back boundaries in the initial overs, which even made the lecturer to get involved, looking at our enthusiasm.

We couldn’t resist sitting back in the classroom anymore as the match progressed and after the second hour, some of us decided to request our Head of Department to let us go back and enjoy the match for the day. But, of course, our petition was not accepted. As we headed back to our classrooms, the rebel inside us was already waking up for this was the second time our petition was turned down; the first time was for getting it declared a national holiday.

It was only the third hour when the cell phone guy whispered that Sachin Tendulkar is about to hit a half century. After which, a sort of telepathic message got spread throughout the classroom and everybody stood up from their respective benches. The lecturer looked at us in both shock and doubts for what were we going to do now? We did take the drama level a little higher as we started to sing the National Anthem; all of us. It was a sudden patriotic uproar which even we had not expected. The corridors echoed with our voices. Once we were done with singing, we all started to storm out of the class, fearless and united. We mass bunked and headed back to our hostels and homes to catch the rest of the match.

India won that day. It was all worth it. Although, next day, we were charged for this behavior by our HOD and some of the lecturers. We had a mix feeling of both guilt (for acting like such outlaws) and pride (for the integrity our classmates portrayed). But, we were happy that we became a part of Team India’s victory celebration.

Such is the madness for Cricket in India and especially when the opponent is Pakistan.

But now, thanks to UC Browser that we do not have to go all over-dramatic and rebellious to watch our favorite game. UC Browser comes with a feature called UC Cricket which is dedicated to all the cricket fans in which they can catch the match from wherever they are, without having to bunk offices or to cancel dates. It is faster than anything and connects to the live game from wherever you are.

Surf it all! Surf it Fast!

Sweetness

I read her, by the river Ganga; poetry personified
Words, her eyes spoke, paused time and tide
Libretto penned, with her touch of amenity
Fortunes spent, in her serene vicinity
She is utterly bitterness not
A sugary bite or,
A tooth fairy?
She is
Sweetness

Poem: Summery

As the dusk dawns,
                        to wave bye-byes
We squeeze our pillows
                        with moist eyes
Savvy of our home’s worth
                        the very last night
with bagsful of wishes,
                        we board the return flight

On our one-way journey
which they call life

Far away from the shelter of adumbral trees in the
backyard
Tropical afternoons surpass in quiet, slumber
boulevard
Along the blooming gardens
                        where we wallflowers grew
Days began with vital tea
                        which our mothers brew
With them watering nurture
                        how green stood the trees
under the humid siestas
                        Of long summer spree
which we passed swimmingly
                        filling our wisdom journals
with morals from our Grandmas’ tales
and zest of their mango pickles

On our one-way journey
which they call life

Gathering bits and peanuts to shape our
borrowed nests
the alluring urban villages welcome us
into its din and dust
We settle on the highways and beyond
                        behind anonymous neighbourhoods
in uncaring matchbox colonies
                        ofthe civilized concrete woods
We scuttle arranging temporary fixes
                        as overhead sunshine gleams
to claustrophobic cubicles
                        chasing pretentious dreams
Strolling with the conventions
we linger in the rat race
and spend sleepless, maudlin midnights
with two hundred songs to Rishikesh

When the season seems out-of-order
we turn our days to weekends,
In the starry openness,
by the riversides,
we wander
in trail of healing valleys
Taking tranquil naps and sin-free dips
we comeback to resume our strife
from the sabbatical road-trips
which we call life

To the metropolis summers
Acceptinglore anddope
to endure
with much hope

From the water-can bearers
who walk several steps
to clench our thirst

the rickshaw pullers
waiting with beads of sweat
for one passenger

the dehydrated birds
which fly back
from the arid balconies

To the preoccupied placesin pursuits concurrent
With the uncharted flavoursand toasty savours
Of sweet escapes and seldom homecomings
Where freedom and kindness rains
In this one-way journey
Of Changing seasons
We call
Life

A-B-C to Start With

Hello Reader,

When I think about how I got introduced to the world of mobile phones, one name that comes to my mind is Motorola. “Talkabout” was my first mobile phone experience. It was a basic mobile phone with just enough features. Sleek and simple it was. It had a keypad on which I practiced SMSing. To type B, you had to press Button ‘1’ two times or to type C; you had to press Button ‘1’ three times. Just like we begin to learn our first A-B-Cs in school or like we learn to drive our first car with the “A for Accelerator, B for Brakes and C for Clutch” theories, we should also know a few A-B-Cs to choose our first Smartphone. After all, it is a personal device and a digital friend which we always carry with us.

 Motorola TalkAbout (Source)

Let us talkabout the A-B-Cs and count some of the basic things that should be kept in mind while choosing the right Smartphone. We will count till ‘E’ because the Smartphone I am talking about is the new, second generation, MOTO E. Here are five points why MOTO E is just the right Smartphone to start with.
Android Lollipop
Moto E comes with the most recent Android Lollipop OS, directly coming out from the Google’s oven, hot and updated. Plus, it has a stock OS, untouched by unnecessary add-ons which often slow the phone’s speed and drains its battery. The latest Lollipop looks like an amazing UI for a user-friendly, hassle free experience.

Battery

At times, when you need your phone the most, its battery dies and that is not good at all. To use a phone with so many features, there should be a battery able to keep it on and not a one which gives up before the sunset. Moto E will not ditch you on a long run as it comes with a 2390mAh battery to keep the phone working.

Core

What’s inside is what matters. A 1.2 GHz Quad core processor is more than enough to start with. A right amount of brainy to be able to run your favorite apps with no lags and interruptions. Also, having the stock OS helps the phone’s processing, making the usability smoother.

Design

But, what’s outside is appealing too. Moto E has fine dimensions and sleek-yet-strong design which easily slides into your pocket. The 4.5 inch touch screen makes it easy to single handedly use it. Just like its UI, the body too can be customized using the colorful changeable bands. In short, it is pocket-sized powerhouse.

Easy for pocket

Moto E is a budget phone. There would be no regrets about having spent too much on a phone, after owning this one. At this price, it’s a great deal to step into the world of smartphones.

When it comes to choosing a smartphone, I look for the features that I would need, not what the advertisements tell I need. And, Moto E offers everything that my smartphone should have.

So, if I had to choose a smartphone to start with, this is the one I would go for.
